Record Time (Timestamp)
Punch
Depending on how your Punch tile is configured for you, it can be used to record several activities:
- Record In- and out-punches
- Cancel meal or break deductions
- Start a new shift
- Transfer time to another job, labor category, or work rule
Record your time
To record your time, click Punch.
A message then appears along with:
- The time of the punch
- Labor category, work rule, or job transfers, if any
- Canceled meal deductions, if any
If there is a problem with your punch, a failure message displays with the reason for the failure.
Optional tasks
You might also be able to do the following from within your Punch tile:
- Cancel Deductions — Deductions are automatic breaks built into a shift. For example, if you have an 8.5-hour shift with half-hour break deduction, you are paid for 8 hours. If you work through the break, you may be
able to cancel the deduction while recording your timestamp.
- Next to Cancel Deductions?, click Yes to cancel all automatic meal and break deductions. If you have multiple deductions within a shift, all the deductions will be canceled within that shift.
- Transfer — To transfer your time, click the Transfer box and select the applicable business structure, cost center, labor category, or job from Transfer panel.
- To add a job transfer or work rule, click Advanced.
- To add a job transfer, select the job from the drop-down list or click Select Location(s)... In the Select Locations box, click Clear Locations, select a new location, and then click Select.
- To change a work rule, select a work rule from the drop-down list.
